The Competition Staunton 7.62 cm Chess men have proved to be a very popular set of pieces in The Regency Chess Co product range, with the traditional carvings skillfully produced by master craftsmen from workshops who produce some of the finest chess pieces in the world.
Not only that, the dark pieces are created by undergoing a chemical process of ebonisation, giving the look of ebony (without the price tag) and further protecting the wood. Each and every piece is accurately weighted for perfect balance and every base covered with billiard cloth.
What makes this set of pieces extra special is that it is just one of four sets of chess men in our range that has its own dedicated chess piece case. Skillfully and beautifully crafted from Sheesham (Golden Rosewood), lovingly lined with luxury green flocking, this work of art will not only be practical in storing your chess men, but look beautiful whilst doing so.
Please note that due to supply chain issues, the box will be supplied with either a brass clasp or a hidden magnetic closing mechanism.
We have matched these sought-after pieces with a superbly presented wooden chess board from Greece. High quality grade mahogany and birch veneers along with master workmanship has produced a board with an old fashioned artisanal feel and look about it. The family owned
Manopoulos are well known for their expertise in marquetry and backgammon sets, so you can expect this board to be of the highest quality.
This combination of pieces, box and board gives you great value for money but also superb quality products. This is a great gift for someone special, or how about a gift to yourself?
