Handmade in Italy, this board is crafted from Briarwood and Elm veneer, then coated in a thick layer of deep satin lacquer. The grain of the Briarwood burl is mesmerizing, with captivating patterns in various shades of color, from rich yellows to deep reds and browns. The inlaid veneer squares are bordered by an ebony strip, adding an elegant touch. The underside of the board is also veneered with lacquered wood and has felting pads for surface protection.

The Victoria Burl Chess Set pays homage to the classic Staunton style, with a modern twist- wider bases and a more concave sweeping shank. Every piece is meticulously crafted, from the intricate finial on the king to the precise hand carving of the queen's crown. Through the sophisticated process of ebonising, the light Boxwood is transformed to resemble a refined ebony finish, adding to the luxury of the set.
