The Down Head series is the Regency Chess entry-level wooden Staunton chess pieces. These lovely chess pieces are single-weighted and generously felted on their bases to ensure the wood remains protected. They are all 'one piece' carvings using a design that is not only great to look at but equally practical to play chess with.

These Down Head Series chessmen have been fashioned from ebonised boxwood and boxwood, and truly represent superb value for money. They are crafted and finished in the same factory as some of the world's finest chessmen, with the very same craftsmen carving these that create our luxury chess pieces.

Chessboards of 33 to 38cm best accommodate these chess pieces.
