The Regency Chess Company Reviews:
Luxury crushed stone resin chessmen with a charming Alice in Wonderland design.
Based on Lewis Carroll’s beloved characters from ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking Glass’, these beautiful crushed stone resin chess pieces are intricately cast in the UK by the master craftsmen at Berkeley Chess.
The timeless stories were written by Carroll to entertain the young children of his friend, the Dean of Christ Church, Oxford. The Dean’s eldest daughter, Alice Liddell, was the inspiration for Carroll’s titular heroine, and when Lorina Liddell, Alice’s mother, saw her children so captivated by Carroll’s stories, she persuaded him to have them published. The first Alice tale was published in 1865 and has continued to delight readers of all ages ever since.
The main characters from these beloved tales are wonderfully brought to life in these pieces, which are inspired by John Tenniel’s original Alice illustrations.
